This series just keeps getting better. I seem to love each book more than the one before it, though, that could be so because I keep being more satisfied as questions are answered and plot thickens. I don't know how many times I wanted to throw this book across the room in frustration. I don't know how many times I screamed aloud "What the HELL?!" I don't know how many times I wanted to cry, laugh, or beam. This book took me through the emotional gamut again and again. Simply amazing!!

I loved this first three books, and give them 5 stars. However,I wanted to jump into following the story from the previous books.I'm only half way through this one, but it's just not keeping my interest like the others. There are too many new characters when I just want to finish up with my old ones.

This book is perfection from cover to back. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones the TV show, you owe it to yourself to read this. It's possibly the most engaging and easy to read of this 5 book series. Without spoiling anything, let's just say the whole world of Westeros turns upside down, characters you likely loathe get what's owed to them and some admirable characters meet despicable ends.

5/5 and I plan to reread very soon!

i love the way characters are written by the author. just so vivid and the more we read the missing details are revealed. all i hope is the author stay healthy and bring us the conclusion of this series. and not make us wait too long!

i would love to know if Pod is ok. he is a good boy and i am still waiting on more about littlefingers. and what are the Others really.
can't wait!

"A Storm of Swords" is the third book in the series A Song of Ice and Fire. What I like most about this series is the unexpected twists, the strategic alliances and betrayals as the various families take part in the "game of thrones", and the willingness of Martin to kill off major characters in the story.

Another interesting aspect of this series and this book in particular is the blurry line between honor and dishonor. Some characters are pure evil with dishonorable actions, but others show flashes of good and honor that are a bit surprising at times.I think the book is somewhat realistic in that the common man typically wants to provide for his family and do the right thing while the rich and powerful are somewhat corrupt.

Martin does a great job of balancing multiple story lines at the same time and transitioning between the battle in the North, the battle over the seven kingdoms, and Daenerys rise in the East.It will be exciting to see all of these stories come together in later books!

!! Warning !! There are some sex scenes in the book. They are not graphic, and you can easily skip over them if that is offensive.

Expect to be immersed in more fierce battles, incredible adventures, and surprising character development. Unlike the first two, this book is a no-yawner from cover to cover, and is much better than the "Feast for Crows" and "Dance with Dragons" combined. It's too bad that the series didn't conclude with this third very long book, while the author was still inspired for it. With pages numbering in the double digits, this should have been possible, but for the publishers and their contracts.
