Essays by Tang Tao, The Lowered Sails, On the Life List, Essays by Hui An (Tang Tao's penname), Talks on Literary Creation, A Collection of Essays Written in Shanghai and Beijing, On Lu Xun's Aesthetic Thought, Stories About Lu Xun, On Western Influence and the National Style, etc. His last major book was The Biography of Lu Xun, which was left unfinished. Tang Tao was a committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, council member of the Chinese Writers' Association, committee member of the Academic Degree Committee in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Tang Tao died of illness in Beijing on January 4, 1992.
